Devlog #1 – New Systems, Creatures & Backpack Mechanics
Hey everyone!
This is my first devlog, and I’ve made quite a few updates:
- Animals Added – More creatures now populate the world.
- Hunger & Health System – Basic survival mechanics are in place.
- Backpack System – I’ve implemented my idea for a dynamic backpack:
A 2.5D bag is attached to the player’s back. When you open your inventory, it becomes a full 3D bag that’s placed on the ground for searching. Super early, but the concept’s working! - First Weapon Added – Say hello to the Bottle Gun 😆
- Enemies – Krakens and wolves have been added and now work with a newly built wave system. It’s fully functional, but I’ll be improving it as I go.
- Level Design & Blocking Out – Started building out the environment and layout. These early elements will shape how the level grows over time.
- Level Streaming – Due to the large terrain and exploration focus, level streaming is now active for better performance and scalability.
- Player Character – The current one is just a placeholder. A proper one is coming soon!
If you want to support the development or stay updated, consider following the project or donating via the Itch.io page. Every bit of support means a lot 🙏
Thanks for checking it out!
